Cold weather- protect your bs-meter
When it is cold outside and your bs-meter gets cold it doesn´t work. That can be a critical moment for us with diabetes. When I go out skiing I really need my bs-meter and to make sure it work I wear it in pocket in AnnaPS tank top. If I would like to reach the bs-meter easier I place the tank top over the layer 1 and layer 2. Thanks Josefine Palmén that teached me this.
You find the tank tops on www.annaps.com and you can choose different models, woman and men. You can choose two different colors and thin (white) or thicker(black). We love them both.

Susann Gleisners How so sick? is the perfect book for kindergarten and schools to read and discuss and learn about
what diabetes means. Cozy, cheerful and humorous watercolor drawings by Margaret Sandin enhances both
the warmth and joy of the story.
Susann about Susann:I am a determined young woman Susann ”Sussu” Gleisner, born in 1987. I am an entrepreneur and running your own small business. I have many dreams and goals in life that I want to realize. I always have a thousand ideas in my head and I would particularly like to help others through my experiences and knowledge I have received in my life. I like to have many balls in the air.
I am a mother, partner, entrepreneur, lecturer, author, writer, distributor, trainer in equestrian and racing riders. I live with two diseases around the clock that I have had since childhood, diabetes type 1 and celiac disease. It is within the two areas I work most and has many ideas I want to implement to improve the quality of life of others with illnesses.
I’m living with Frederick as captain. We had the honor of January 2014 be happy and proud parents of a wonderful and much loved little girl, Vanessa. I love mom life and getting to spend the bulk of my time with her.
We live in Socklot, a small village in Ostrobothnia, Finland.
Right now, for the moment, we are building from scratch our very own dream farm.
I am a person who has never seen my illness as an obstacle in my life, quite the opposite. Please follow me on my website which will be launched in October:
www.susanngleisner.com
Why I wrote the book?
I got an idea – an idea that became real.
A children’s book about diabetes.
I saw the need, I wrote a script and the 11/11/2013 came out, my book:
”How so sick?”
The first edition sold out quickly, now is the second edition out there.
Info text of the book.
When you are ill should probably be in bed, right?
Martin’s friend Minnie has diabetes, but she does not look sick at all, quite the contrary. Just to manage their disease, says Minnie, can live as normal as any other child.
Susann Gleisner got yourself type 1 diabetes when she was a child. With the story of Minnie, she wants to show that life is by no means run out after a diabetes diagnosis.
Published by publisher Scriptum: https://www.scriptum.fi/sv/books/children/hur_da_sjukThe idea behind the book:
⁃ When you fall ill as a child and is in the hospital, then you get loads of hospital information. Then I want to be able to read my book and see that it’s not just dark and tough. One can live a normal life despite their illness. Both the child and the parents need to see it back then, so maybe, just maybe it will go a little easier.
⁃ Kindergartens, schools should be able to read the book. Many children today have diabetes and do not have a child in the group, I want the children to have some knowledge of what diabetes is.
⁃ Parents, siblings and grandparents can easily by reading the book have told of their illness.
⁃ A diabetsbarn can tell by the book to their friends what their illness.
⁃ Diabetes child can get a better view of their illness.
⁃ disseminate the disease.
⁃
I also go around and hold story time with my book for children.
Tex to libraries, schools, churches and various events.
I read to the children from the book, then we will discuss about the book, and diabetes.
I also have my own diabetes material I show the children.
These storytelling has been a great success. This is the book

The blue ring and the World Diabetic Day (WDD)
(For English please see below)Låt oss presentera AnnaPS alldeles egna blåa ring.

English:
AnnaPS has developed its own Blue-ring. Our Blue-ring may contain various messages and here’s our ”blue-ring-guy”.
With the blue-ring-guy we want to pay attention to all diabetics, which we view as heroes. These heroes every day measure, measure and re-measure their blood sugar, every day will judge and evaluate their activities, moods, and what they eat in order to take insulin doses in order to have good blood sugar levels around the clock. As each day adds several hours to treat their diabetes. To having a positive attitude towards life and the diabetes, we know are important, we all want to be positive, but sometimes we need to pull together to find the motivation.
AnnaPS want ”blue-ring-guy” symbolizes strength to us all diabetics, to a good life and to a simpler life with diabetes.I hope you like the blue ring. I myself am a type 1 diabetic since 1998, and I was curious about the story of the blue ring, so I attach it here (source: The Swedish Diabetes Association Svenska Diabetesförbundet).
I wish you all a nice weekend!

Vita kalsonger till män med ficka – White Briefs for men with pockets for insulin pump

Finally, we have white briefs with pocket for men. And in our popular model with double pockets.
Now there are briefs with double pockets in stock again, this time in the colors white and black. The same material, lovely steady tencel breathable and transports moisture.
What is it that difference between briefs with a pocket and double pockets?
In addition to the number of pockets so it is on the inside of the pocket that is the difference.
Briefs with a pocket has an opening on the inside of the pocket where you can easily stop the pump and place the hose on the inside of the briefs without disconnecting it from the infusion set.
Briefs with double pockets have one buttonhole inside the pocket. To place the hose on the inside of the briefs you need to disconnect the infusion set and wooden hose through the hole. It’s easy too.

Sunshine and insulin pump – it is time for bikini
Do you carry insulin pump and have problems to find a good way to carry your insulin pump during the Summer? Perhaps my story can help you to find an easy way to feel beautiful and relaxed with your pump in the Summertime.
I love the Summer, it is a warm and healthy time. To protect the insulin and also find a way to carry my insulin pump is necessary. Walking around in the garden or just stay on the beach, I carry my insulin pump in the bikini with pocket for the pump from AnnaPS. Sometimes bikini model in boxer or sometimes with long legs. I really like to make it simple. I don´t have to be afraid of dropping the pump, it´s stays in the pocket. And it is discrete, nobody even see the pump and I like the design. I think the pocket and the popper is a nice detail, making the bikini unique. And I am always handsfree! I can do whatever I want without thinking of my insulin pump. That is freedom for me. Always have all hands free, that is perfect. When I need to take a bolus or something else it is easy and quick to take out and in the pump in the pocket. It is easy to close the pocket with the popper to make sure the pump stays in the pocket. I use to place the needle low on my stomach because then I can have the whole tube inside the garment and protect the insulin from the heat and sunshine. It is a small opening inside the pocket to make it possible to have the tube inside the garment.
I don´t swim with my insulin pump because it isn´t waterproof. When it is time for me to go into bath, I take off the pump from the coupling. Let the pump stay in the bikini pocket and just switch to another pair of bikinipanties. The pump stay easy in the pocket and there are no risk it will fall out from the pocket. I use to place the bikini panties in my bag, protect them from the sunshine. There are also perfect protection of the pump from sand. No sand get into the pocket and the pump. When I have been swimming I put on my bikini panties with the insulin pump in the pocket, assembling the coupling and start the pump again. I don´t have to hold the insulin pump when I put off and on the garment. The insulin pump stay into the pocket when it is closed with the popper.
This is simple life for me with my pump in Summertime.Ofcourse I have to watch up regarding the heat and the insulin but I use to find a solution for that.
Would you like to tell me your story regarding insulin pump and Summertime? Please let me know.
Here you can see a video on youtube in 30 sek, about carrying the pump in bikini pocket, please click on the link: AnnaPS bikini with pocket for insulin pump
Looking forward to meet the summer again!

Need no bag as diabetic – just carry all your things in tank top with pockets from AnnaPS
As diabetic I can feel sick of that I always need to bring a bag with all my necessary things as Type 1 diabetic. I always need to bring my bs (blood sugar)-meter, my dextro, my cellular phone and my pump. Sometimes I also have my emergency pen with me.
I then developed a tank top with pockets in sides. Just to bring all my things without using a bag. In the tank top it is an opening on inside to place the pump in the pocket and also have the tube on inside. Then it is also an opening on outside of the tank top, to be used to easy taking in and out things from the pocket.
I use to wear the tank top under my shirt or T-shirt, it easy to reach the pocket openings and taking out and in what I need. Really discrete, it is fashion with function. And it is so simple, I never have to look for my bs-meter, it is always close to me.
To show you how to use the tank top I made this video with Josefin showing how to place the pump in the pockets, just 30 sek. Please visit youtube, click on this link:

Lena Type 1 climbing Mount Everest in AnnaPS garments
This is a story about Lena who is going to climb Mount-Everst. She is 41 years old and has Type 1 Diabetes. She is doing this to make the challenge, both climbing and having nice blood sugar levels. Is she the first women with Type 1 doing this challenge? Lena has a son born with heart deseas and she will also do this as a way to support the research for that in the found Hjärtebarnsfonden.se.Lena is carrying insulin pump. It is a real challenge to carry all diabetic equipment, insulin etc at a high level of 6000 meter above the sea. She is going to protect the insulin pump and bs-meter in AnnaPS Tanktop with pockets in sides. She is going to carry the insulin in Panties with pockets, also from AnnaPS.It is going to be very interesting to follow this climbing and see how AnnaPS can support it in the best manner. If you would read more about AnnaPS garments please follow this link.Below you can read a letter from Lena (sorry, it is only in Swedish).Lena Type1 who is preparing climbing Mount Everst- all diabetes things in AnnaPS garments HejI maj 2014 ska en dröm gå i uppfyllelse och jag ska göra mitt livs äventyr.

Sustainable fashion part 5- common way of producing thread in textile industry, and what does AnnaPS making different.
In this blogger we explain a common procedure in textile industry, to make the thread from raw material as cotton, wool, oil, silk, wood etc.If you would like to make a different, welcome to test wonderful and beautiful underwear’s from AnnaPS ®. There are underwear’s with or without special pockets. Welcome to our webshop at https://annaps.com/wordpress/en/For AnnaPS ® it is important to limit the effect on the environment and we put a lot of effort to minimize the effect on the environment during the production of the thread. Here you can read about a common way to produce thread, AnnaPS ® have made a lot of different choises make this in another way:Common procedure in textile industry when making thread:The process from raw material to fabric involves several steps. The raw material is sent from the producer of raw material (that can be a sheep farmer who produces the wool) to the next step which is to make the fibers of that are going to be spun a thread.AnnaPS ® make the underwear’s from wood, we use an eco-viscose called Tencel. The trees come from FSC marked forests and are renewable. We like that.It is quite common that the raw material is sent quite far to be processed in the next step and the environment is usually hot and humid. There are plenty of insects that like to eat the raw material and it can easily become moldy during transport. Here is when chemicals are used to “protect” the fabric from bugs.AnnaPS ® has chosen to make the production in the EU because it does not require chemical treatment for transport. Shipment takes shorter time and the environment is cooler, which means that anti-mold control is redundant. This means we effect the environment less. When the raw material comes to the next factory these chemicals are washed out. Unfortunately, there are manufacturers who don’t take care of waste water in a good way, and chemicals are being released straight out which poisons the soil and water.AnnaPS ® follows EU chemicals legislation REACH which regulates the use of toxic chemicals and handling of chemicals also. It’s a tough environmental legislation. This means we have highest requirements when using chemicals and there is no need risk to poison the water when washing the raw material. When the fiber is spun into a thread, one will want the color faded down to white so it would guarantees the right and even color when dyeing. Now there is a white thread that is ready to be sent to factories for weaving or knitting.AnnaPS is designed and made in Sweden – we care about our beautiful nature -

Diabetes clothes will help you to a better sleep
As diabetic with pump it is sometimes lot of problems when you sleep.
Lots of pump users wake up a lot of times in the night because they have the pump free in the bed and when they turn they start laying on the pump, the hose is straighten and it is a lot of risk to lose the infusion set from the body, which is really bad for the glucose level.
Lot of pump users feel bad sleeping with the belts. It is not good looking and uncomfortable to wear.
Some are wearing the pump in a clip on the boxers. No problem until you need to visit the toilet in the nights and you have to put the pump in your mouth to hold it.
Really big problems start when you have small kids calling in nights or coming and would like to sleep in your bed. The small kids hands and feet are a big risk to catch the hose and then the infusion set is falling off.
As a diabetic with pump I love my boxers with special pockets for the pump integrated. I always sleep with the pump in the boxers and I sleep so well. I am never disturbed because of the pump. With the pump in the boxers never have to think about the pump and the hose. I don´t even see the pump and I feel good looking. I never wake up because of laying of the pump. I feel safe. And I always have my hands free. I love my boxers with pocket for insulin pump. My special diabetic clothes.
Do you also would like to sleep well and not have to see or think about your pump in the nights. Please welcome to the website where you can buy the boxers or other special clothes for insulin pump user´s on www.annaps.com

SUSTAINABLE FASHION part 3 – natural or synthetic material
AnnaPS ® stands for sustainable fashion and has chosen a synthetic fiber in the garments. The fiber is cellulose which comes from trees that can be our spruce and pine trees in the forest. AnnaPS® has chosen wood that is guaranteed to be cultivated in a sustainable manner. The tree fiber is named Tencel® and are manufactured in a controlled way, to secure eco-friendly production, please read more about this fantastic fiber on the producer´s website: http://www.lenzing.com/en/fibers/tencel.htmlAnd now more about sustainable fashion….what is natural and synthetic material? And what is sustainable and why?To make clothes you need to start from a raw material such as trees, cotton, wool, hemp. The raw material is treated into a fiber so that it can be spun into a yarn which is then knitted or weaved to fabric. There are two types of fiber, natural or synthetic. The natural fibers are, for example cotton, silk, hemp, flax, wool. These materials are designed so that it is possible to spin a thread directly from the fiber.Synthetic fibers are for example viscose (made on the tree), polyamide (made from oil). What is common with these is that the raw material needs to be ”cooked” and the fiber/thread is manufactured in a process similar to spaghetti. The fiber/thread become steadier compared with a natural fiber/thread.This implies that both natural and synthetic fibers can be sustainable fashion. Natural fibers are always renewable resource which is sustainable fashion. However, they can be sprayed with chemicals so bad that they stop being sustainable fashion.Synthetic fibers can be sustainable fashion or not. If they are made of renewable raw materials and manufactured in a fear way, then it is sustainable fashion.AnnaPS has chosen Tencel to secure high quality, soft and wonderful material and produced in a sustainable way. Welcome to www.annaps.com, underwear´s with and without pockets to carry, insulin pump, pen, glucose meter etc.Spider web is a natural fiber – excellent! AnnaPS garments are made of Tencel – green fashion, and wonderful material-here pocket for insulin pump in singlet. -
